The Student Services Officer for the Data Science Program has been recognized as one of four recipients of the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Award of Merit. This award began in 1999 to acknowledge the important role staff play in the success of the school and the university as a whole.

SURP-Stats matches students with faculty across campus doing research that includes statistics and/or data science. Students will also participate in regular lunch meetings with their peers, attend talks and professional development opportunities, and present at a final poster session.
